Gary Harris is a recent graduating senior from Howard University with a B.S in Biology. I am interested in doing research because it’s like a puzzle that is urging to get figured out, and I always appreciate good puzzle. Research with the Cobb Lab allows me to do that but on a relatable topic to me - African American ancestor, possibly my ancestors. With the lab being the only institution with 400 years of genomic samples on peoples with African descent, the knowledge that this puzzle holds are not only never-ending but also could help and complete other researchers work. This experience will allow me to become an overall better candidate when I apply to medical school in the following year.
